Have you ever just lost it? Had a real melt down moment? Yeah, it happens to the best of us. Moments like that make me want to throw in the towel. Give it all up for days filled with chocolate covered bon bons, pedicures, and television. Like most, I live a hectic life. I'm going full force an easy 16 hours most days and still I can't get to my "to do" list. My critique partner Marykate says I set my goals too high. She's right. (Love you, MK!)
I decided it was time to stop being tired. (What you resist persists.) And embraced it instead!
I gave in. Sat down. Allowed myself to push the task aside and listen to my body, my mind, and my spirit. I'm not a robot. (Though I'd like to be.)
I honored what I needed so I could embrace the grace that operates in my life. I never want to be ungrateful for my dance with grace. Ever.
Maybe now that I'm rested I can look upon my things to do with a fresh renewal and walk the path intended for me.
Maybe even get that pedicure...
What do you give yourself permission to do?
Love the line about 'dancing with grace'--beautiful image.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely plan on the pedicure, maybe even tonight (do it myself but makes me happy just the same);
I should HALT more often: that is, pay attention when I'm Hungry, Angry, Lonely or Tired--imagine that--but I don't;
I am, however, learning to take a little break to get my energy (said with my grandmother's Italian accent). I do that mostly by granting myself the time to watch something with Fran Drescher in it OR Dancing with the Stars. And I make sure to keep up with my exercise and walking. At least if I'm nuts, I want to look the best I can for me while I'm there :)
Got part of that pedicure in--painting those toes tomorrow morning (don't want sheet lines, lol).
ReplyDeleteGood for you! It's important to take the time for the things that bring us peace. Makes us better for the people in our lives who love us. Well, love us most of the time that is! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI should really get that massage that was given to me for mother's day last year. Hope the gift card is still valid a year later. I just can't seem to find the time for me. I keep saying, I'll get it after this or after that, but fail to actually reward myself. :(
